CLAIRE JONES ON THE ISSUES
A pledge for bipartisan, solution-oriented leadership that unites our community.
Williamson County is looking for leadership that puts people over party — bipartisan, solution-oriented leadership that brings people together to make life better.
Claire Jones is a nurse and a mom who decided to run for State House because her State Representative, Gino Bulso, refused to budge when the community asked for gun violence prevention and is suing her public schools to press his personal morality on the community. Claire believes we need to restore some balance in Tennessee’s ruby red government, and she’s committed to representing everyone, regardless of party.
Claire will bring leadership to the State House:
FOR OUR CHILDREN.
Every child deserves a high-quality public education in a safe school — where they’re free from gun violence and free to build the future they want. That’s going to be Claire's No. 1 focus.
FOR A FAMILY-FIRST ECONOMY.
Claire has a plan to lower costs for families hurt by inflation. She wants to repeal the grocery tax to put more money in all our wallets right away, while working with builders to increase housing supply and expand our Main Street-style infrastructure to bring more prosperity to our community.
FOR ACCESS TO HEALTH CARE.
As a hospice nurse, Claire knows how to cut health care costs. She has a plan to expand TennCare to uninsured but working adults at no cost to the state, while fighting junk fees that lead to higher bills for people with private insurance.
FOR LOCAL CONTROL.
Tennessee has a Republican supermajority, and we have to be honest about what that means. When one side has too much power, we end up with laws that stop local communities from enacting red flag laws and burdensome regulations on public schools. Claire wants to restore some balance and revive Tennessee’s bipartisan traditions.
FOR REAL FREEDOM.
Whether it’s the total abortion ban, bans on books, or the never-ending anti-LGBTQ laws, our state has gotten more extreme than we ever expected. Claire understands that regardless of how you feel about social issues, we all deserve the freedom to write our own futures. Claire is committed to cutting past these fights so we can make progress that makes communities prosper.
